5 Different Type Carpet Cleaning Methods

With so many different ways one can clean the carpets, it all comes down to which method an individual prefers and the condition the carpets are in. All the methods will get the job done, and selecting the best carpet cleaning methods all come down to an educated and informed decision. Basically, there are two major carpet cleaning methods: steam cleaning and dry cleaning.

The Steam Cleaning Method-

This is considered one of the best carpet cleaning methods by carpet manufacturers. Also known as the hot water extraction method, it can be done through either a portable unit or a truck mounted unit, the latter being a better option. This is an ideal method for cleaning highly soiled carpets.

The cleaning solution, which is first applied to the carpet, is then rinsed from the carpet using hot water. Because it involves a lot of flushing action, it does a thorough cleaning job. It takes around 24 hours to dry, but the high heat leaves the carpet free from bacteria, fungus, mold, and dust mites.

The Dry Cleaning Method-

This method has a few different variations, and which of these are the best carpet cleaning methods is a matter of choice.

Foam Method - A machine agitates the foaming shampoo applied into the carpet to absorb the dirt. It is then left to dry and is then vacuumed along with the dirt and soil. The carpet dries quickly, but some residue is left behind.

Bonnet Cleaning - Next to the steam cleaning method, this is one of the best carpet cleaning methods and is very popular. The cleaning solution is applied to the carpet to absorb all the dust and the soil. This solution then gets soaked into the cotton bonnets of the spinning machine. The bonnets can be of a synthetic material also.

Powder Method - A semi-moist powder is applied, which absorbs the soil in the carpet. It is allowed to dry and is then vacuumed out. It dries the carpet quickly, though some residue remains.

If you want to find the best carpet cleaning method for your particular carpet, be sure to ask your local carpet cleaning expert. Not all carpets are the same. Some have different types of textiles that were creating to complete the carpet and may require a different type of carpet cleaning technique. For example, a Persian carpet should have the utmost care and you should call and as an expert on Persian carpets. Not any old carpet cleaner who just started the job.
